8.1.3. MAINTENANCE OF ENGINE
8.1.3.1. SPARK PLUG
After every 100 hours of running the spark plug should be checked or
replaced. Check the colour of the deposits on the end of the spark plug. It
should be a brown colour. Remove all deposits using a stiff brass wire.
Check the spark plug gap (Pic. 21) and adjust if required. The correct gap
should be between 0.7 to 0.8mm.
8.1.3.2. ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT
The oil should be replaced after approximately 50 hours of use. It is
recommended you maintain an estimate of this by tracking your usage of
the machine. (Initial engine oil change after 20 hours, then every 50 hours
of use.)
1. As per normal start-up, ensure the machine is on a flat, dry surface and
follow the previous instructions to start up the machine. Allow the engine to
warm for several minutes before turning off the engine.
2. Remove the oil filler cap as seen in Pic. 22.
