TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SUGGESTED CORRECTION

•  Compressor will not turn on

•  No electrical power
•  Loose wire connections
•  Overheating Compressor

•  Turn on power
•  Tighten connections
•  See “Overheating Compressor”

•  Knocking noise or internal pump issue

•  Internal pump issue

•  Call C-Aire for assistance

•  Pump/motor hums

•  Not unloading head pressure

•  Clean check valve 
•  Check Solenoid operation

•  Low incoming voltage

•  Check voltage
•  Upsize wire

•  Pressure differential too small

•  Increase differential between Max & Min pressure

•  Short cycling

•  Leaks

•  Find and repair leaks

•  Check valve not seated

•  Clean/replace check valve
•  Stretch spring

•  Condensation built up in plumbing

•  Drain condensation
•  Reduce humidity in compressor room
•  Install compressor above system valve

•  Leaks

•  Find and repair leaks

•  Overheating Compressor

•  System too large

•  Decrease system pressure
•  Upsize compressor

•  Wrong size fuse or breaker
