How the iNetVu Search Method Works
1.
The targets for the satellite you are searching on are calculated using the GPS.
For example: 99W GALAXY 16 (G-16)
Latitude: 45.42°
Longitude: -75.69°
Target Elevation = 32.8°
Target Azimuth (
true
) = 211.1° (

NOT the azimuth angle of our antenna

Target AZ is for informational purposes only.)

The antenna will read the compass, and calculate an azimuth search starting point. This is also
known as the “
System Ref. AZ
”. The antenna will use this value to start searching based on a
120° azimuth search window.
A
System Ref. AZ
of 30.2° will have a search window of +60° and -60° of this starting
point.

If the compass reading is off this may place the search window outside the satellite location.
The compass can be affected my some type of interference so using a full search window of
360° may be necessary. This can be accomplished by Overriding the Compass and Enabling
Full Search.
4.
The search routine also includes an Elevation search window. The default Elevation (Vertical)
range is 3-5° on each side of the Target Point.
