Troubleshooting
- If nothing happens when you try to scan, check that the pen is connected to the PC.
- Tips to improve the scanning
- Make sure both the supporting legs on the pen touch the paper.
- Avoid tilting the pen too much towards the paper.
- Pay attention to where you aim when you start and stop the scanning.
- Try to minimise the rotation of the pen during the scanning.
- If the pen has difficulties scanning, moving the pen somewhat slower can improve the
result.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight when using the pen.
- Text printed on very glossy paper or poorly printed text is difficult for the pen to read.
Translate
In
Translation
mode you scan text with C-Pen 20 and quickly and easily get the translation
of the text. You can also type the text for translation.
Note that the translation suggestions not only will be the exact translations but also similar
wordings and derivations. When a word has two different meanings, this can result in
some of the translation suggestions lacking a connection to the original word.
Prepare – Load a Dictionary
Before using the translation function you must load a dictionary and enter a license key.
1. Register at
www.cdictionary.com
. Follow the instructions on the web site to get a free
license key (the first dictionary is free when registering).
2. Open the C Dictionary main window. In the menu
Translate
select
Dictionary licenses
to
open the Dictionary Management window. Select the dictionary that you have a license
for from the list and click
Add license
. In the dialogue that opens, type the license key that
you received from the web site (in step 1 above) and the user name you used when you
received the license key. Click
Done
. The dictionary loaded appears in the
Dictionaries
field in the C Dictionary main window.

Translate
Make sure you have selected
Translation
mode; the icon in the system tray looks like this

Scan the Text
- Move C-Pen 20 over the text you want to translate. Lift C-Pen 20. The text appears in
the
Input
box in the C Dictionary main window, the translation appears below, in the
Result
box.
Type the Text
- Type the word in the
Input
box in the C Dictionary main window, and press
Enter
on the
keyboard. The translation appears in the
Result
box.
