Mounting the pedals
Please keep in mind:
The left pedal has a left-hand thread. It can be recognised by
a groove in the pedal axle flange (arrow fig. 6).
1. Slide the washers 1 onto the pedal threads (fig. 6).
2. Wet the pedal threads with the provided assembly paste.
3. Screw the pedals to the crank arms and tighten them (35 Nm) (fig. 7).

Mounting the front luggage rack
NOTE
Risk of damage!
The luggage rack holder was developed especially for the Schindel-
hauer aluminium front luggage rack. Mounting another luggage rack or
other components can damage the e-bike.
» Do not mount another luggage rack or other components on the
luggage rack.
» Do not mount the M8 mounting bolts without the front rack as they
will bump against the head tube and block the steering.
Oskar / Heinrich / Hannah / Emil / Emilia
Depending on the model, your e-bike already has an aluminium front
luggage rack or it can be retrofitted with one.
The preparatory work differs for models with dummy plugs 1 (fig. 8 on
the left) or with cover plates 2 (fig. 8 on the right) on the head tube.
Models with dummy plugs
1. Unscrew the dummy plugs 1 on the left and right side of the head tube
Models with cover plates
1. Unscrew the screws 2 on the cover plates on the left and right side of
the head tube and remove the cover plates (fig. 8 on the right).
All models
2. Then place the spacers in the recesses on the head tube (fig. 9). Use
some assembly paste to fix the spacers into place.
3. Slide the luggage rack carefully over the head tube into position. Insert
first the lower and then the upper screws (fig. 10 on the left).
4. Then tighten all 4 screws evenly (15 Nm) (fig. 10 on the right).
Please note and follow the instructions for using the front luggage rack
⇨ chap. 30 “Luggage rack and luggage struts” on page 149.

Basic settings and ergonomic adjustments
!
CAUTION
Risk of accident and injury!
An incorrect sitting position can cause muscle tension and joint pain.
If you have limited access to the controls on the handlebars due to
an incorrectly adjusted sitting position, the risk of accidents increases.
» Have the settings and adjustments described in this chapter
performed by your dealer if you are unsure.
The ideal sitting position depends on the frame size of the e-bike, the
physical size of the cyclist and the settings of the handlebars and the
saddle.
Specialist knowledge is required to adjust the bicycle to an optimal sitting
position. The optimal sitting position can also depend on the use of the
e-bike, e.g. if it is predominantly used for sports.
If the optimum sitting position cannot be achieved by adjusting the saddle
and handlebars, ask your dealer for advice on components with other
dimensions.

Saddle
You can adjust the height, as well as the horizontal position and the incline
of the saddle, to achieve the right setting for your individual sitting position.
