24.2 Setting the assistance level
You can choose between the modes “Eco,” “Tour,” “Sport” and “Turbo”.
• Adjust the assistance level using the + and - buttons (fig. 23).
If you press the - button again in “Eco” mode, the electrical assistance
is switched off completely. The display now shows “Off” as the mode. All
other functions remain activated.
24.3 Switching the lighting on and off
Activation
Oskar / Heinrich / Hannah – Alfine
• Press and hold the + button on the Purion display for 1-2 seconds. The
lighting switches on (fig. 23 on the left).
Heinrich / Hannah – Enviolo
• Press the 3 button on the KIOX display. The lighting switches on (fig. 23
on the right).
Deactivation
Oskar / Heinrich / Hannah – Alfine
• Press and hold the + button on the Purion display for 1-2 seconds. The
lighting switches off (fig. 23 on the left).
Heinrich / Hannah – Enviolo
• Press the 3 button on the KIOX display. The lighting switches off (fig. 23
on the right).
If you turn off the e-bike system with the lights on, the lights will
automatically turn on again the next time you turn on the e-bike system.
24.4 Walk assistance
!
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
The cranks and pedals turn automatically when the walk assistance
function is switched on, which can cause injuries.
» Maintain a safe distance from the cranks and pedals when switching
on the walk assistance function.
» Only use the walk assistance function when pushing the e-bike.
» Only use the walk assistance function if the e-bike is on both wheels.
The walk assistance function provides you with assistance when pushing
your e-bike. This function can operate at speeds of up to 6 km/h and is
dependent on the gear selected. The lower the gear you select, the lower
the speed.
Familiarise yourself with the function and acceleration of the walk
assistance function away from road traffic.
• To activate the walk assistance function, press the 2 button and then
hold down the + button (fig. 23).
• To switch off the walk assistance function, release the + button.
If the battery charge has been used up, the electric drive will
switch off. Power is supplied to the lights for another 2 hours.
Before starting your journey, especially in the dark, make
sure that the battery charge status can guarantee the lighting
for the duration of your planned journey.
24.5 Charging, removing and inserting the battery
Charging the battery
You can charge the battery in the e-bike via the charging socket on the seat
tube or in the removed state. In both cases, the same plug connection of
the charging cable is used. The charging time for fully charging the battery
from an empty state is approximately 4.5 hours. The current charge status
is shown on the display and when charging on the removed battery next
to the charging socket.
Removing the rechargeable battery
Always switch off the e-bike system before you take the battery out of
the holder.
1. Turn the key in the battery lock clockwise until it stops and hold it in

3. Pull the battery upwards out of the recess in the frame and then lift it
laterally out of the frame (fig. 25).
Proceed carefully to avoid damage to the paint on the frame or the battery
cover.

Inserting the rechargeable battery
1. Place the battery with the plug side on the guides of the lower bracket
in the frame.
2. Turn the key anticlockwise and press the battery down firmly on the
lock side until it audibly engages.
If the battery does not lock with an audible “click”:
• Check the battery for a tight fit in the lock.
• Check that the top edges of the battery and down tube are aligned when
viewed from the side. A projection of the battery of approx. 1 mm is
within the tolerance.
