The configuration of your Micro-CS will determine how the jumpers
should be set. Table E-1 shows possible configurations and jumper
positions.

modem uses Power On and ATZ Reset Software
factory default settings from read only memory
(ROM). If the user uses the modem's dial security
password (not recommended) and forgets the
password, then this jumper setting is used to regain
access to the modem, and then change the
password.

Modem uses NVRAM for configuration data
(default)The modem uses Power On and ATZ
Reset Software defaults from the user configurable
nonvolatile memory (NVRAM). This is the default
and preferred setting which allows normal
operation of the Micro-CS
