Respiratory System
The Ares manikin includes respiratory features that allow learners to practice basic assessment and
life support skill sets. With the manikin, learners can:
• Manage difficult airways
• Perform cricothyrotomy
• Maintain tracheostomy site
Respiratory System Controls
Ares uses both physical and mathematical models to achieve an extremely accurate simulation of
respiration. Ares’ chest rises and falls, mimicking inspiration and expiration. Ares’ lungs also react
realistically to intubation as well as to pathophysiologic states.
