Using the StethoSym
Click the
Sounds
button on the Run screen to access the Sounds controls. The heart, lung, and bowel
sounds can be auscultated using the StethoSym.
Note:
The StethoSym does not come with a stethoscope.
Setting Up the StethoSym
1. Connect the StethoSym’s speaker module to the diaphragm of the stethoscope with the
two elastic bands.

2. Pull back the lever on the StethoSym module to open the clamp and attach it to the tubing
of the stethoscope.

Operating the StethoSym
1. To connect the StethoSym to the manikin, press the power button on the side of the
StethoSym module.
The unit powers on and the indicator light should be green. The indicator light flashes red
if the battery is low.
2. Place the StethoSym speaker module over a sound tag on the manikin for approximately
10 seconds to ensure that StethoSym connects to the proper manikin.
