Using WordScan Basics
Chapter 3: Using WordScan & Window Descriptions
For graphic files only, if you specified more than one
graphic zone per page, a letter (A to Z, where A equals 1
and Z equals 26) is appended to the end of the file name
indicating the order in which the graphic was captured
(file names are shortened accordingly).
For example, if a document named
ARTICLE
had three
sections separated by blank pages as well as two graphics
on the fifth page of the stack, WordScan would create the
following files:
ARTICL01.DOC
ARTICL02.DOC
ARTICL03.DOC
ARTIC05A.TIF
ARTIC05B.TIF
The first three files contain the text from the three
sections separated by blank pages. The last two files
contain the two graphics on page 5. (The extensions may
be different depending on which image format you chose.)
Text Format
Choose the desired text format from the drop-down
list box. See Appendix A for a list of text formats.
Graphic Format
Choose the desired graphic format from the drop down list
box. See Appendix A for a list of graphic formats.
Directories
The Directories list box shows in which directory the file
will be saved. All directories accessible from the current
directory are shown in the list box. Below the Directories
box is the Drive box. Click on the drive and directory
names until you have specified the desired path name or
type a complete path name in the
File Name
field.
