The PA-15 Megaphone is a versatile product for use in many
applications including security, sports, parks and recreation, construction, tour
guides, fire, police and military.
Getting Started:
Unpack and check the contents. In the carton you should have:
• PA-15 Megaphone with strap
• 6 ‘D’ Batteries
• Owner’s Manual
• Project Intercept Tag
• Warranty Card
Damage:
Inspect the product for shipping damage. If damage is found, notify the
freight carrier immediately. Repack the product in the original packaging and await
inspection by the freight carrier’s agent. Notify your dealer of the pending freight
claim.
Returning your product for service or repair:
Should your product need
servicing or repair contact your dealer or Califone Customer Service at
1-800-722-0500 to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. All returns must
be accompanied by an RA number and shipped freight prepaid. COD shipments
will be refused.
Instructions Prior to Use:
Please read the following instructions before using
this product.
1. Safety. This device can cause discomfort or hearing damage if directed at a
persons’ ear, particularly with the siren feature.
2. Batteries. If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, one month for
example, remove the batteries. Aged batteries can leak and cause corrosion to the
contacts causing the product to perform poorly or not at all.
3. Environment. Do not leave the unit in direct sunlight or extreme hot or cold
environments for an extended period of time as damage may occur.
4. Clean-up. Use only a neutral, non solvent detergent to remove dirt or grease.

4. Nettoyage. Utiliser uniquement un détergent doux sans solvants pour éliminer
la saleté ou graisse.
Utilisation du mégaphone:
1. Installation des piles. S’assurer que le bouton d’alimentation se trouve à la position
ARRÊT et que la commande de volume est réglée sur le minimum. Appuyer sur le
bouton du compartiment des piles (voir figure A) afin d’ouvrir le couvercle, puis
installer les 6 piles D en suivant les indications de polarité positive (+) et négative (-).
2. Mise sous tension. S’assurer que le bouton Voix/sirène est réglé sur « voix », c’est-à-
dire qu’il n’est pas enfoncé (voir figure A). Appuyer sur le bouton d’alimentation et
parler dans le microphone en gardant la bouche à une distance d’environ 25 mm.
Augmenter graduellement le volume pour se familiariser avec le niveau sonore. Il est
vivement recommandé d’effectuer ce test en extérieur.
Réduire le volume et enfoncer le bouton Voix/sirène, puis augmenter une nouvelle fois
graduellement le volume pour se familiariser avec le niveau sonore.
