Oncehappywiththese,theusercan
proceedtotheMempagetoloadthe
show.IftheshowusesaRP1unitand
thatissetto‘TrytoConnect’,theshow
willbeloadedandtheappropriateRP1
unitdatatransferredintheappropriate
directionfromhosttoRP1unitifthe
‘BlockFader/CutControl’issetorfrom
RP1unittohostifitisn’t.
NotethatiftheRP1unitissettobe
independent,settingsarenottransferred.
IftheshowisnotusingaRP1unitthat
issetto‘TrytoConnect’,theshowwill
beloadedandtheRP1unitsetting
unaffected.
WhathappenswhentheHost
Consolebootsuporisreset?
Thisloadstheshowthatwasactivethe
lasttimetheconsolewasrunning.This
mustoccurwithouthindrancetocaterfor
brown-outsetc.
Asthe‘TrytoConnect’,and‘BlockFader/
CutControl’switchsettingsarestoredat
Systemlevel,thesewillcomeupasthey
werebeforetheconsolewasturnedoff
(orreset),whichisexactlywhattheuser
wouldwant.
Aftertheconsolehasbeenofffora
period,anewusermaynotknowthe
settingsoftheseswitches,orwhichshow
isgoingtobeloaded.
Therefore
,
users should clear down
(turn off) all ‘Try to Connect’ switches
after they have finished a Remote
Production session
.Thiswillavoidthe
consoleinadvertentlyconnectingtoaRP1
unitthatanotherconsoleisgoingtouse,
overwritingsomeofitssettings.

ForeachRP1unit,theuserofthehost

Oncetheyarehappywiththese,the
usercanproceedtotheMempageto
loadthememory.Ifthememoryisusing
anRP1unitandthatissetto‘Tryto
Connect’,theshowwillbeloadedandthe
appropriateRP1unitdatatransferredin
theappropriatedirectionfromhosttoRP1
unitifthe‘BlockFader/CutControl’isset
orfromRP1unittohostifitisn’t.
NotethatiftheRP1unitissettobe
independent,settingsarenottransferred.
IfthememoryisnotusingaRP1unitthat
issetto‘TrytoConnect”,thememory
willbeloadedandtheRP1unitsetting
unaffected.
Becausethememoryisbeingloaded
onthehost,andthisdoesnothaveany
audiowherethesettingsarenotmeant
toprevail,thereshouldbenoinstance
whereaudiocouldchangetothesettings
fromthememory,andthenchangeagain
tothesettingsthataremeanttoprevail.
Theexceptionwouldbeanythingthathas
beenIsolatedonthehost,butthiswillbe
dealtwithbytheexistingIsolatesystem.

RP1unitloadsitsShow/Memoryready
forsubsequentconnectiontothehost.
Ifconnectedtothehostconsole,the
RP1unit‘Independent’flagistested.
IfindependenceisON,thentheRP1
unitloadsitsShow/Memoryreadyfor
independencetobeturnedOFF.No
settingsaretransferredineitherdirection
irrespectiveofthe‘BlockFader/Cut
Control’setting.
ItisonlywhentheIndependenceisturned
offthatthesettingofthe‘BlockFader/
CutControl’switchbecomesrelevant.
WhathappenswhenIndependence

Ifconnectedtothehostconsole,and
notindependent,thestatusofthe‘Block
Fader/CutControl’switchistested.
