Thepeakinrushcurrentislimited(coldstart).Figuresareavailableforallunits.Thisreduces

suppliesfittedhavepassivefiltering(asopposedtoactivepowerfactorcorrection)toreduce
theharmonicstowithinthelimitsofthestandardEN61000-3-2.Atthetimeofwritingthe
standarddoesnotapplytoequipment<75W.Ifthelowerlimitiseverreducedtheunitswillbe
compliantandassucharefutureproof.

TheheatoutputfromFixedFormatHydra2I/Ounitsdependsonthesupplyvoltageand
loading.Typicallyitis0.55timestheRMSVA(VoltsxAmperes)at230Vand0.7timesthe
RMSVAat115V.HeatoutputfiguresareavailableforalltypesofI/Obox.
ThelowpowerPSUefficiencyisagaindependantonsupplyvoltageandloading,generally
>70%.

AllfixedformatHydra2I/Ounitsof2Uorgreaterarecooledundercontrolwithfanassistance.
Operationisnotdependantonthefan;itistheretoextendtheoperatinglifeoftheunit.There
isan80mmlowpower,lowspeedandlownoisefanmountedtotherighthandsidepanelof
eachunitventingair.Fanspeedismonitoredandsystemstatuswarningsaregeneratedif
fanssloworfail.Airisdrawninthroughthelefthandsidepanel.
