SMALL FORM-FACTOR PLUGGABLE (SFP) OVERVIEW
Connections between the RP1 unit
(which includes the processing core)
and all Hydra2 network connections
between I/O boxes are all made via
SFP modules.
SFPscanbeprovidedforRJ45copper
connections,aswellasSinglemodeor
MultimodefibreonLCconnectors.This
allowsforeachport’sconnectiontypeto
bechosentosuitcable-rundistancesand
theexistinginfrastructure.SFPscanbe
changedeasilyonaportbyportbasis,as
andwhenrequired.
IfCalrecaresupplyingSFPsforyour
installation,thecorrectquantityofSFPs
aresuppliedpre-fitted.Thetypeofeach
connectioncopper,Singlemodefibreor
Multimodefibreshouldbespecifiedat
thetimeofordertoensurethecorrect
SFPtypesaresupplied.AdditionalSFP
modulescanbeorderedifrequired.Ifa
systemistobeconnectedtoanexisting
Hydra2network,pleasediscussthiswith
yourCalrecprojectleader,salesperson
orlocaldistributortoensurethatSFPs
areprovidedandportsprovisionedforthe
additionalroutertorouterconnections.

frontpanelslotsonrouterandModular
I/Ocontrollercards.Themodulescan
befittedorremovedwhilstthesystem
ispoweredupandwithoutremovingor
openinganycardorboxcasings.
