This section describes how to plan for 450 Platform Family links to be managed remotely using SNMP.
Planning f or SNMP op er at ion
Cambium modules provide the following SNMP traps for automatic notifications to the NMS:
l
coldStart, which signals that the SNMPv2c element is reinitializing itself and that its configuration
may have been altered.
l
warmStart, which signals that the SNMPv2c element is reinitializing such that its configuration is
unaltered.
l
authenticationFailure, which signals that the SNMPv2c element has received a protocol message
that is not properly authenticated (contingent on the snmpEnableAuthenTraps object setting).
l
linkDown, as defined in RFC 1573
l
linkUp, as defined in RFC 1573
l
egpNeighborLoss, as defined in RFC 1213
l
whispGPSInSync, which signals a transition from not synchronized to synchronized.
l
whispGPSOutSync, which signals a transition from synchronized to not synchronized.
l
whispRegComplete, which signals registration completed.
l
whispRegLost, which signals registration lost.
l
whispRadarDetected, which signals that the one-minute scan has been completed, radar has been
detected and the radio will shut down.
l
whispRadarEnd, which signals that the one-minute scan has been completed, radar has not been
detected and the radio will resume normal operation.
Note
The proprietary MIBs are provided in the 450 Platform Family software
download files in the support website (see Contacting Cambium Networks).
Enab ling SNMP
Enable the SNMP interface for use by configuring the following attributes in the SNMP Configuration page:
l
SNMP State (default disabled)
l
SNMP Version (default SNMPv2c)
l
SNMP Port Number (default 161)
