- USING THE COMPRESSOR
WARNING!
The table represented on paragraph 3.8 refers to the photo number showing the compressor parts indicated in the text.
4.1 Installing the compressor on the tractor
•
Attach the compressor to the hydraulic lift of the tractor (32) by using the two lift arms (31) and then secure it to the third hitch
point joint (29).
•
Raise the compressor to the required work position.
•
Adjust the length of the top third brace so as to set the compressor horizontally, according to drawing (E).
•
Check the oil level in the compressor by using the dipstick (9); the oil should be between the maximum and minimum level
marks.
•
Join the compressor to the tractor power take-off by using a suitably long cardan joint (33) provided with a 6-spline shaft
(35 mm dia.).
WARNING!
Make sure the lock pin of the cardan joint (33) is in the correct position.
4.2 Start-up procedures
When using the compressor for the first time, please follow the instructions for an adequate running-in:
•
Open the air exhaust tap (18).
•
Start the compressor and make it idle for about 30 minutes.
•
Close the air exhaust tap (18).
WARNING!
•
When working, the compressor should not travel distances up, down or across gradients greater than 20%. Greater
gradients may cause the engine and the compressor to break down (see diagram E).
•
Check the moving parts protections for correct positioning.
4.2.1 Control devices
The compressor is started and stopped by the tractor engine previously connected to it.
4.2.2 Start-up procedure
•
With the engine off, make sure the compressor is properly installed. In particular, check that the cardan joint (33) is secured
in place with the lock pins provided.
•
Start the tractor engine making sure the power take-off does NOT exceed 300 rpm (approx.) which corresponds to 1200 rpm
in the compressor.
Once the compressor air tank (17) is full and the pilot valve (3) starts discharging air, make sure:
•
The gauge (22) indicates the correct pressure.
•
The correct amount of lubricating oil is delivered to the equipment.
To use the compressed air, simply attach the air hoses to the equipment by using the fittings (13) provided with an automatic
valve.
