12. Use the Data Monitor tab to view frequency and temperature data in both the Public and
VW_Data tables. The VW_Data table stores measurements made by the CRVW3. Confirm
that the data in the VW_Data table updates immediately after each measurement. See
(p. 25) for more information about using the Data Monitor
tab.
8.9 Validating CRVW3 radio operation
If you have a CRVW3 with a radio option (–RF451/RF452 or –RF407), validate that the radio is
working properly before leaving the site. Follow the process described in
(p. 27) using the antenna installed for the CRVW3 and a small
omnidirectional whip antenna on the portable base radio.
For devices with the –RF451/RF452 option, use an RF451/RF452 configured as the gateway radio
and connected to the computer. For devices with the –RF407 option, use an RF407 connected to
the computer. Position the computer and radio at least 25 feet away from the antenna installed
on the CRVW3 to avoid radio frequency (RF) interference that can impede communications.
8.9.1 Radio power schedule
A CRVW3 with a radio option can be configured to turn on and off at certain times during the
day. This is done using the Radio Power Schedule tab in
Device Configuration Utility
. For example,
use the following settings to turn the radio on for 15 minutes at midnight, 6:00 AM, noon, and
6:00 PM.
