MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

1. Lock nut
2. Adjuster
5. Turn adjuster until a resistance is
felt.
6. Firmly move vehicle back and forth.
The rear brake has to be "locked"
keeping the rear axle from turning.
If rear axle turns, tighten adjuster
one turn at a time until rear brake
"locks".
7. Release parking brake.
8. Move vehicle back and forth. Vehi-
cle has to move freely.
9. Keep adjuster from turning and
tighten the lock nut.
10. Slide protector over the adjuster.
If the recommended adjustment is
unattainable, refer to an authorized
Can-Am Dealer
WARNING
Always use the parking brake
when the vehicle is not in opera-
tion. Make sure the parking brake
is properly adjusted. Riding the
vehicle with a continuous pressure
on the brakes may cause damage
to the brake system and cause loss
of braking capacity and/or fire.

equipped with a quick cable adjuster
that has no lock nut. Adjust clutch ca-
ble as explained below but ignore the
information concerning the lock nut.
The clutch lever nominal free play is 10
to 15 mm, refer to next photo.

If there is
too much free play
(more
than 15 mm), adjustment can be done
at clutch lever. Refer to
ADJUSTMENT
AT CLUTCH LEVER
below.
If
free play is insufficient or lost
, then
clutch release cover screw must be ad-
justed to get enough free play. Refer
to
ADJUSTMENT AT CLUTCH COVER
further.
Perform adjustments accordingly.

Adjustment at Clutch Lever
1. Loosen cable adjuster lock nut.
