User's Guide
Antenna Settings
The Antenna Settings group allows for configuration of antenna and baseline offsets.
(Figure 4.4.3 D ‒ The Antenna Settings options)
Antenna Type
- The MLGPS's antenna can be specified from the drop-down, and a pre-calculated Antenna
Offset for that specific antenna make and model's determined electrical phase center will be applied.
▪
Antenna Offset
- Each GPS antenna has a physical center point, and a point where
measurements are made, called the electrical phase center. The two do not usually coincide.
Accounting for the electrical phase center can help to increase accuracy of the readings.
Baseline Offsets
‒ The Offset grid is used to apply an offset to a baseline in the case that a correction needs
to be applied to the position of the Base Station without interrupting data collection to redo the Average function
for that station.
GPS Data Archiving
Raw GPS data is stored on the MLGateway hosting server. Once it is processed, the data can be used for
troubleshooting and reprocessing if post processing settings are adjusted.
With the release of MLSuite 2019, the archive only takes up 25 MB per station per day. Setting the Archive
Max Age to 7 to 14 days allows for newly added solutions to be calculated retroactively and seamlessly
imported into the database.
Hint - If running an older version of MLSuite, archive data could potentially take 1 GB per day.
(Figure 4.4.3 E ‒ The GPS Data Archiving selection)
Archive Max Age
- This sets rules for purging of older raw GPS data.
