MLTDR-W-50S User's Guide
Open the Shake’n Seal kit. This is the ES137S Electrical Splice Kit. It contains a tube of epoxy, foam plug,
wood mixing stick, and plastic gloves.
The directions included with the kit are for splicing two electrical cables together. In the case of TDR cable, the
encapsulant epoxy tube is used to seal out water from the downside of the TDR cable.
Depending on temperature, the mixing of the encapsulant takes different amounts of time.
Below 65 °F (18.3°C) the encapsulant must be mixed using the included wood stick. From 65°F (18.3°C) to
85°F (29.4°C), the tube of encapsulant can be shaken for 1 minute. From 85°F (29.4°C) to 100°F (37.7°C), the
tube of encapsulant can be shaken for 30 seconds. Above 100°F (37.7°C), the encapsulant will harden too fast
to work with.
Prepare the foam plug to fit around the TDR Cable. Tear off the section shown. Form to foam around the TDR
cable.
Put on the plastic gloves that are included with the kit.
