Troubleshooting Guide
It is the highlight alert (p.231). Overexposed highlight areas with a loss
of highlight detail will blink.
If the image is protected, it cannot be erased (p.225).
Movies edited with a computer using ImageBrowser EX (p.319) or
other EOS software cannot be played back with the camera. However,
video snapshot albums edited with EOS Video Snapshot Task (p.171)
can be played back on the camera.
If you operate the camera’s dials or lens during movie shooting, the
operation noise will also be recorded.
During autoexposure movie shooting, if there is a drastic change in the
exposure level, the recording will stop momentarily until the brightness
stabilizes. In such cases, shoot movies with manual exposure (p.156).
An HDMI cable (sold separately) is necessary to connect the camera
to a TV set. Using the HDMI Cable HTC-100 (sold separately) is
recommended (p.222).
Also check that your TV set has an HDMI IN terminal. If the TV set
does not have an HDMI IN terminal and has only an A/V IN jack, the
camera cannot be connected.
Playback Problems
Part of the image blinks in black.
The image cannot be erased.
The movie cannot be played back.
When the movie is played back, camera operation noise
can be heard.
The movie has still moments.
I cannot connect the camera to my TV set.
