2-sided (Making Two-sided Copies from One-sided Originals)
This mode enables you to make 1 two-sided copy from 2 one-sided originals.
NOTICE:
❍
Make sure to place the original horizontally when making copies of LTR-R size originals or originals in the
horizontal orientation. If the original is placed vertically, the front and back of the copy will be copied upside
down.
❍
The following paper sizes and weight can be used in the 1
→
2-sided mode:
- Paper size:
11" x 17", LGL, LTR, LTR-R, STMT-R
- Paper weight:
17 to 28-lb bond (64 to 105 g/m
2
) (We recommend 28-lb bond (105 g/m
2
) paper when
making full-color copies. Using other paper may result in degraded image quality.)
❍
Some modes may not be able to be used with 1
→
2-sided.
❍
When placing originals on the platen glass and making copies from one-sided sheets to two-sided sheets,
copying in the Interrupt mode is not possible.
MEMO:
●
Two-sided modes (excluding two-sided to one-sided) cannot be set when feeding paper from the stack
bypass. For details on how to make two-sided copies using the stack bypass, see Making two-sided copies
with the stack bypass (2ND SIDE OF 2-SIDED OUTPUT) p. 3-13.
●
If 2 or more one-sided originals are placed in the feeder (optional accessory), and the Auto Count function
is set to ON, the number of originals will automatically be counted before copying begins. The Auto Count
function prevents the first copied page from being blank.
You can also make copies without the Auto Count function. Set the Auto Count function to OFF, then specify
the number of originals as [EVEN NUMBER] or [ODD NUMBER].
Canceling automatic counting like this saves time, and also reduces wear and tear on originals.
