Auto Drawer Switching
If a drawer runs out of paper, the machine automatically locates another drawer loaded with
the same paper size and begins feeding paper from that alternative drawer.
MEMO:
●
You can set whether or not a drawer is subject to Auto Drawer Switching. (See the Reference Manual,
Drawer Eligibility for APS/ADS p. 3-7.)
Auto Clear Function
If the machine is not operated for a certain period of time after copies have been made or
keys have been performed, it automatically returns to the Standard mode.
MEMO:
●
You can set the Auto Clear Time from 1 to 9 minutes, in one-minute increments. You can also cancel this
function. (See the Reference Manual, Auto Clear Time p. 3-31.)
●
In the Auto Clear function, you can also set the amount of time before Message Boards reappear after
having been closed by pressing the [DONE] key. (See the Reference Manual, What are “Message Boards”?
p. 2-13.)
Energy Saver Mode
The Energy Saver mode enables you to adjust power consumption by lowering the tem-
perature of the fuser unit on stand-by. You can choose from the following energy savings
settings: [-10%], [-25%], [-50%].
The setting can be selected in the Energy Saver Adjustment function. (See the Reference
Manual, Energy Saver Adjustment p. 3-12.)
If the machine is not operated for a certain period of time after copies have been made or
keys have been performed, it automatically enters to the Energy Saver mode.
You can change the timer settings in the Auto Energy Saver Time function. (See the Refer-
ence Manual, Auto Energy Saver Time p. 3-32.)
The machine also enters the Energy Saver mode when the
Energy Saver
key on the control panel is
pressed.
The
Energy Saver
key lights while the machine is in the Energy Saver mode.
Press the
Energy Saver
key, the
COPY
key or the
OPTIONS
key to return the machine from the Energy Saver
mode. Pressing the control panel power switch has the same effect.
MEMO:
●
When the [-10%], the [-25%], or the [-50%] setting is selected in the Energy Saver mode, it may take a
certain period of time until the machine returns from the Energy Saver mode and is ready to begin making
copies again. The waiting time for each setting is as follows:
- [-10%] setting:
Approx. 30 sec.
- [-25%] setting:
Approx. 1 min. 10 sec.
- [-50%] setting:
Approx. 1 min. 30 sec.
●
When the [RETURN DIRECTLY TO STANDARD MODE] setting is selected in the Energy Saver mode, ap-
proximately 1% of energy is saved.
