Chapter 3 Making Copies Using the Basic Features
Selecting the Original Type
This setting enables you to make copies to match the type of text, photo, or map originals.
Also, this setting enables you to adjust the text and photo priority level in the Text/Photo
Priority setting. The following three settings are available for originals.
■
TEXT/PHOTO/MAP
This setting is best suited for making copies of originals containing both text and photos,
or originals with detailed drawings and small-size text, such as that found on a map.
■
PRINTED IMAGE
This setting is best suited for making copies of photos printed in magazines.
■
BLACK TEXT
This setting is best suited for making copies of originals containing only black text with
neither illustrations nor photos.
NOTICE:
❍
Combined use of these three settings is not possible. If you select one of these settings, the previously set
setting is canceled.
❍
If you select the following two modes simultaneously, the machine will make copies of originals in the Black
Text setting, even if Text/Photo/Map is selected:
- Black Monochrome mode (the
Black
key lights). (See Switching between the Full Color Mode and Black
Monochrome Mode (including ACS) p. 2-21.)
- When Text Priority is selected in the Text/Photo Priority in Black Mode setting in the Additional Functions.
(See the Reference Manual, Custom Common Settings p. 3-11.)
❍
If you set the Full Color mode or ACS after selecting the Black Text as the original type, the Black Text
setting is canceled.
❍
If you select the Black Text as the original type after setting the Full Color mode or ACS, the mode is
changed to the Black Monochrome mode.
