5.2.5 Connecting the iR-M1 and the PC
1) Obtain the permission of the user’s administrator, and turn off the main power switch.
Then, disconnect all cables.
2) Connect the parallel port of the iR-M1 and the PC (to which the Download Tool has
been installed) with a Centronics cable.
3) Turn on the PC, and start up Windows 95/98.
5.2.6 Operating the iR-M1
1) Perform up to step 3) of 5.2.7 (Operating the PC).
2) Power on the iR-M1; when the Fiery logo appears on the iR-M1 Control Panel, press
the up botton on the front of the iR-M1.
3) At the parallel boot screen on the iR-M1, select Yes.
If you do not select Yes quickly enough at the parallel boot screen, recycle
power and try again.
4) When the message ‘Send download’ has appeared, perform step 4) in 5.2.7 (Operating
the PC).
5) Perform setp 5) to step 6) of 5.7.2 (Operating the PC)
6) At the Choose Function screen, select Instllation. A message appears informing you that
the parallel port is flushing; wait for that process to comlpete.
7) When ‘Please copy installation software to the parallel port’ appears on the iR-M1, per-
form step 7) in 5.2.7 (Operating the PC).
8) Select ‘OK’ on the iR-M1.
9) when the installation is complete, ‘Installation was successful’ appears; select ‘OK’.
10) At the choose Function screen, select Continue Boot.
