E. Detecting the Size of Copy Paper

1. Outline

The size of copy paper is detected by the machine’s CPU in reference to the cassette dial set by the

user.

See Figure 3-623 for switching between AB- and Inch-configurations. Based on the detected size of

copy paper, the machine determines the distance over which to move the scanner and the area of laser
exposure.
