M. Detecting Jams
1. Outline
As many as seven paper sensors (Figure 3-655) are used to check whether copy paper is moving prop-
erly or to check for jams.
The microprocessor on the DC controller PCB runs checks at such times as programmed in advance
in reference to the presence/absence of paper at specific sensors. When it detects a jam, it will turn OFF
the main motor and indicate the Jam message on the control panel.
