9.2 Photosensitive Drum
9.2.1 Removing the Drum Unit
1) Open the front cover.
2) Release the feeding assembly.
3) Release the developing assembly.
4) Remove the fixing screw [1].
5) Slide the drum unit [2] slowly out to the
front.

When removing the photosensi-
tive drum, hold it by its long
hole [1], and take care not to
soil it.
The photosensitive drum is
highly susceptible to light. Once
outside the machine, be sure to
protect it against light.

As many as 19 spurs [1] (4
type) are attached to the bottom
of the drum unit. Take care
when deciding where and how
to place the drum unit after tak-
ing it out of the machine.
