Scan Kiosk II V2.0 Setup and Administrator’s Guide
4.8 Importing Root Certificates
This section describes how to import and delete root CA certificates (.cer). These
certificates are required to validate the certificate chain of external server certificates
during any TLS/SSL operation.
For example, when using SMTPS, the SMTP server sends its server certificate, which
in turn, may be signed by a root CA certificate. Scan Kiosk II needs the root CA
certificate to verify that the SMTP server certificate is valid, and can be trusted.
Without the root CA certificate, the SMTP connection fails.
