❏
Batch separation using patch code
sheets
A patch code sheet is a sheet on which a unique pattern is
printed and that is used to separate files without
interrupting scanning. When such a sheet is scanned and
the pattern is recognized by the scanner, file separation is
performed.
Printing patch code sheets
Open the patch code sheet file using an application that
supports the PDF format, and always print in the original
size. The patch code sheets are stored on the supplied
instructions and utilities CD-ROM as PDF files.
IMPORTANT
• Print [PATCH T (A4)] and [PATCH II (A4)] on A4 size paper
and [PATCH T (LTR)] and [PATCH II (LTR)] on letter size
paper, always in their original size.
• If a patch code sheet is enlarged or reduced for printing, the
patch code may not be recognized.
Patch code pattern functions
Patch codes are separated into two patterns, PATCH T and
PATCH II, each with different functions.
• PATCH T
When a sheet with this pattern is recognized, the file is
separated with the image of the next sheet heading the
next file.
You can specify whether to save the patch code sheet
image with the [Record the paper separated file] setting
.
• PATCH II
When a sheet with this pattern is recognized, the file is
separated with the image of this sheet heading the next
file. The image of this sheet is always saved, regardless
of the [Record the paper separated file] setting.
