• When [POP before SMTP] is selected, make sure you
specify the host name (or address) and port number of the
POP server being used, and the wait time that follows POP
authentication.
• When [SMTP Authentication] is selected, an authentication
method with a high level of strength is selected automatically
from the SMTP authentication methods.

FAX
Configure the following settings for the Internet fax
service you are using.
• Provider name
If you are using an Internet fax service and provider
name specification is necessary, enter the provider name
specified by your provider.
• User name
If you are using an Internet fax service and user
information specification is necessary, enter the user
name registered with your provider.
• Password
To use the password of the user specified in [User name],
select [Change Password] and enter the password.
• To, Subject, and Message
Enter the e-mail address (To), subject, and message for e-
mails that will be sent to the Internet fax service.
If you enter the following input strings for these settings,
the strings will be replaced with the following
replacement strings when the fax is sent.
For example, the substitution strings that you enter will
be replaced as follows when the fax number is
“001112222”, the provider name is “FaxService”, and
the user name is “SFUser”.
