9.3 Internal Battery Pack Replacement Procedures
The standard model UPS is designed to allow the user to replace the internal battery pack
safely. Read the safety cautions before proceeding. Contact your local dealer or representative
or customer service center or the head quarter of the company to obtain the replacement
battery pack.
1)
Press ON/OFF button to transfer to bypass mode.
2)
Switch the maintenance switch from UPS to Manual BYP.
3)
Remove the front cover and battery access door from the UPS for reassembly.
4)
Gently disconnect the battery plugs and battery receptacles.
5)
Pull the internal battery packs out of the UPS.
6)
Line up and slide in the new replacement internal battery packs.
7)
Gently push the battery wire into the UPS battery compartment.
8)
Reconnect the battery plugs and battery receptacles.
9)
Reattach the front battery door with the six screws.
10) Reattach the front cover to the UPS.
NOTE:
The internal battery pack is hot-swappable. However, caution should be exercised
because the load is unprotected from disturbances and power failures during this procedure.
Do not replace the battery while the UPS is operating in Battery Mode. This will result in a loss
of output power and will drop the connected load.
