If the aircraft answers yes (
):
* Whilst it is unlikely the controller will be working more than one speechless aircraft
at a time, it is possible. The controller should allocate numbers in sequence with the
first aircraft being allocated Speechless 1 as the callsign.
Depending on the answer the controller is to then ascertain if there are any
other forms of emergency:
If the aircraft indicates a further emergency then the questions in the table below
should be asked in sequence moving to the appropriate column for aircraft type (once
ascertained if required) if the answer to one of the main questions is no. These
questions are not intended to provide an answer to all possible emergencies and
controllers must be prepared to adapt to any given situation.
NOTE:
If it is established that the aircraft type is a Tornado, then controllers should
ask if the aircraft has a wing sweep failure.
Speechless aircraft, adopt the
