A computer print out can be obtained by selecting ‘File’ and ‘Print, the results are presented as a
report sheet as shown in fig 18.
The ‘.tif’ image files can be imported into Microsoft Word or Excel for inclusion in test reports
etc. The ‘.dat’ files containing the critical temperature data are in tab delimited format and can
also be inserted into a Microsoft Word document as a table or opened as a spread sheet in
Microsoft Excel.
4.5.8 Overtemperature Alarm.
Should a fault develop in the control system which causes the furnace exceed its 1600°C
(2912°F) limit an overtemperature controller automatically shuts down the furnace and the over-
temperature warning light illuminates on the furnace control panel. See fig 11. The over-
temperature controller is mounted inside the furnace case and is not accessible to the operator.
Turning the instrument switch off and then on again once the furnace has cooled down will reset
the overtemperature control.
Note:
The overtemperature control is a safety device to protect the furnace in the event of a fault.
If the overtemperature control has operated it is an indication that there is a fault present in the
furnace, it is recommended that the furnace is not used until the fault has been rectified. Contact
