Thank you for choosing this product. This user manual de-
scribes how to prepare, operate, use, maintain and care for the
product. It is a guideline for users and caregivers to ensure the
safe and risk-free use. Please read this user manual carefully
and keep it readily at hand at all times.
CONTENTS
The product is supplied in a cardboard box. The cardboard box
serves for the future storage of the product and must not be
discarded. Please first check whether the contents of the box
is complete and undamaged. Notify the supplier imme diately
upon receipt should you detect any damage. Complaints raised
at a later point in time cannot be accepted.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure that the product always stands firmly. Only use the
overbed grab rail on a level and firm floor. Avoid high lateral
loads. When using the product beside a bed or adjustable
armchairs, ensure that there is sufficient distance from mo-
ving parts. Before every use, make sure that the seams, the
loop material and the fastening elements of the triangular
handle are undamaged and securely fastened. For your own
safety, replace these parts approximately every five years.
Do not overload theoverbed grab rail. Swinging from the
standing aid is strictly forbidden. The overbed grab rail must
not be combined with other products.
INTENDED USE
The overbed grab rail is only suitable for indoor use. It can be
used in conjunction with most standard beds and, due to the
low height of the foot, can also be used as a standing aid for
seating furniture. Do not place the overbed grab rail to the
side of the item of furniture, but always behind it at the head
or back end. No additional fastenings on the wall or bed are
required. The overbed grab rail can be dismantled easily and
is therefore easy to transport and store. The maximum load /
supported weight is 90 kg, making it suitable for a maximum
body weight of 130 kg when used with a bed. If you do not in-
tend to use the product for a long period of time, store it in a
dry place away from dust and direct sunlight.
ASSEMBLY AND USE
Please observe the following instructions to install the over-
bed grab rail properly. We recommend that you have the
overbed grab rail installed and adjusted by your specialist
dealer. Remove all parts from the packaging. Place the foot
on the floor and insert the remaining pieces into each other
(see illustration). Then attach the triangular handle and adjust
the height of the triangular handle
to the desired length. The product
is now ready for use. Depending on
the intended application, position
the overbed grab rail behind the
bed or armchair. Please always
make sure that the arm with the
triangular handle is located cent-
rally above the patient, and that the
patient does not place a lateral
load on the overbed grab rail when
using it. The height of the triangular
handle is adjustable. Simply extend
or shorten the loop.
REUSE
The overbed grab rail is designed to be reused after inspection
by the specialist dealer, who can replace defective parts and
disinfect the product if necessary.
INDICATION
Physical or medical impairment of the function of the pelvis,
where patients still have upper body strength and the use of
their arms. Supports independent sitting up in bed, for raising
the buttocks (e.g. to use a bedpan) or moving into a wheel-
chair, toilet chair etc.
CONTRAINDICATION
If the overbed grab rail is used as intended, no contraindi-
cations are known.
WORKING LIFE
The expected working life of the overbed grab rail is 5 years
provided it is used in accordance with this user manual and is
undamaged. It can be used beyond this period of time, if it is
in a safe condition and has not been damaged.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
All parts of the overbed grab rail should be cleaned and dis-
infected regularly. Clean with a damp cloth, using a mild
cleaning agent for heavy soiling. For disinfection, please use a
standard surface disinfectant, observing the manufacturer’s
instructions.
