GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The hoist should only be operated by authorised and trained operators, who have read
the manual and safety instructions:
1. Always make sure the hoist is in good condition before use.
2. Never exceed Safe Working Load.
3. Never lift or transport load over or near people.
4. Never run the load chain over a sharp edge.
5. Never operate a hoist if damaged or malfunctioning
6. Never use a hoist for lifting, supporting, or transporting people.
7. Never leave a loaded hoist unattended, unless lowered on floo r.
8. Never use hoist unless there is clear sight on bottom hook and load
9. Never use the hoist chain as a sling.
10. Never use an extended pipe or bar on handle.
11. Never use Free Chain Adjusting Knob when hoist is loaded.
12. Never operate so far that the hook or chain stopper touches the body.
13. Never support a load on the tip of the hook.
14. Never use a twisted, kinked, damaged or worn chain.
15. Never use a hoist if the safety latch is missing or broken.
16. Never heat-treat or weld on hoist, load chain or hooks.
17. Never throw or drop a hoist.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The lever hoist is designed for lifting, pulling and hauling up to the maximum capacity as indi-
cated on the label and the bottom hook. This SWL may not under any circumstances be
exceeded.
After checking the above points, and properly securing the load, the load may be lifted, or the
pulling may commence, by a pumping movement of the lever handle. To effect this, the 3-
position switch on the body of the block has to be in the correct position. The left position is
for lifting or pulling, the right position is for lowering or releasing, whereas the middle position
is neutral. In this neutral position it is possible, but only when no load is applied and the free-
knob is pulled, to freely adjust the chain to the required location.
