reduced sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
23.
appliance.
Do not use the appliance with a damaged mains cable, mains plug or frying
24.
basket. Seek expert advice.
If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
25.
agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not use extension cables with kitchen equipment as they increase the risk of
26.
accidents.
If you are using a solid fat, melt this gently in a separate pan and pour it into the
27.
oil tank before switching on. Do not melt solid fat in the appliance by placing it in
the basket or you may damage the appliance.
Renew the cooking oil regularly. Used oil may contain contaminants, lower
28.
smoking temperatures and cause excessive foaming and spattering.
Always dry food before frying as moist foods cause excessive foaming and
29.
spattering. Even small amounts of water may cause the oil to spatter.
Never overload the frying basket. If too much food is fried at the same time, the
30.
food will not get crisp and may cause excessive foaming and spattering.
After completion of frying, allow the food to drain before removing it from the
31.
basket.
This appliance is for household use. Do not use for any purpose not expressly
32.
specified in this manual.
The appliance must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains
33.
socket.
Fryer Fires
The two main causes of fryer fires are:
the oil overheats and catches fire spontaneously,
1.
the oil spills over because either it has been filled past the MAX mark or the food
2.
inside is wet causing the oil to bubble up and overflow.
If Your Fryer Catches Fire:
Raise the alarm to make sure that everyone in the household is aware of the fire. Call
the Fire Brigade. Turn off the fryer, if it is safe to do so!
Do not reach over the fryer to get at the controls.
Do not attempt to move the fryer.
Never put water anywhere near the fire! - the consequences could be disastrous.
This type of fire is extinguished by placing a cover over the fryer. This could be the lid,
a fire blanket or a damp (not wet) tea towel.
CONSIDER YOUR OWN SAFETY FIRST!
