Cooking With Your Fryer
Fill the oil tank with oil until the level is between the MIN and MAX level marks
1.
shown on the inside of the bowl. Check the level of oil before using the fryer on
each separate occasion.
Corn oil, sunflower oil, ground nut oil and vegetable oil are all suitable for use
•
with the fryer. If you wish you may use solid vegetable fat but this is much
more difficult to handle. Solid fat should be melted in a separate pan before
transferring it to the tank.
Do not use margarine, butter or olive oil. Do not mix different oils and fats.
During frying you may hear slight clicking noises and you may see the
Ready indicator going on and off several times. This indicates that the
temperature is being maintained and is quite normal. Hot steam may also
escape through the sides of the lid. This is also a normal occurrence.
Lightly smear the viewing window with a little oil. This will prevent it from
•
getting fogged by condensation and allow you to view the food while it cooks.
Plug the fryer into the mains socket. The POWER indicator will illuminate.
2.
Adjust the temperature control to desired setting.
3.
Wait until the READY indicator turns green (indicating the fryer has reached the
4.
set temperature) before lowering the food into the oil.
Place the food to be cooked (which should be as dry as possible) in the basket.
5.
Always have the basket in the raised position when filling it with food. Do not
overfill the basket.
CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY
6.
, lower the basket with food using the handle into the
oil tank (be careful not to touch any metal parts of the fryer as they may be hot).
Cook the food according to the time suggested in the frying guide on page 11
7.
and close the lid. Check the progress of the food during cooking by raising the
basket using the handle and view the food though the viewing window.
