NOTICE

Be careful not to cross thread the 

connector onto the valve. Hand tighten 

only. Do not use tools to tighten this connection.

  6.   Make sure the hose is not kinked and is routed
      away from any sharp edges or hot surface. The
      LP cylinder should be placed at least 24 inches
      away from the appliance.

The supply hose can be a trip 

hazard. Tripping over the gas 

supply hose can cause spillage of hot oil or food, 

resulting in serious burns. Place the LP cylinder away 

from human or pet traffic. Do not walk between the 

appliance and the LP cylinder.

  7.   Perform the Soapy Water Test described in the

      following section to check for leaks.

5.3   Soapy Water Test

 

•  The soapy water test must be performed outdoors    

  in a well-ventilated area.

•  Do not perform the test around open flames, sparks,   

  lit matches, lighters, or cigarettes.

•  Never use an open flame to test for gas leaks.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

 

The “soapy water test”

 must 

be performed each time:

  • the LP cylinder is reconnected, or

  • any time the appliance has been moved, or

  • at least once per year and/or the appliance has not    

    been used for more than 60 days.

  1.  Remove any cookware or oil vats from the appliance. 

 

  2. 

The shut-off valves and the LP cylinder valve 

should be in the OFF or closed position.

  3.  Prepare a soapy water solution by combining one

      part dish washing liquid with three parts water.

  4. 

Open the LP cylinder valve.

position).

  5.  Apply the soapy water solution to ALL

      connections between the LP cylinder and the

      shutoff valves on the manifold assembly.

Close the LP cylinder valve im-

mediately if bubbles appear. Re 

tighten the loose connection and repeat the test.

  6.  If leaks are identified between the LP cylinder

      and the unit’s shutoff valves, immediately turn

      OFF the LP cylinder valve.

  7.  If connections are leak-free, continue to Step 10.

  8.   All connections with evidence of leaking should

      be tightened, then repeat Steps 4 and 5.

  9.   If after tightening any loose connections bubbles

      continue to appear, close the LP cylinder valve,

      disconnect the LP cylinder, and do not use the

      appliance. Contact the local retailer where the

      appliance was purchased.

  10. Continue with the Lighting Instructions or if the

      appliance will not be used immediately, close all

      gas valves and disconnect the LP cylinder.

to, a natural gas supply line.

  4.  Make sure both shut-off valves are closed and  

 

      connect an LP cylinder, as described in section “5.2  

      Connecting the LP Cylinder” on page 9.

  5.  Remove the protective cap from the LP cylinder    

      valve, if installed, and connect the hose and gas    

      regulator assembly to the LP cylinder.
