INTERNAL SYSTEMS
SECTION 4
7. On the Safety Breaker Panel:
a.
Turn the accessory battery master disconnect switch to
the “ON” position.
b. Switch the Main - One circuit breaker “ON.”
Do not operate the washdown pump when the seacock that supplies
seawater to the washdown system is closed. Operating the pump with no
seawater can damage it.
8. On the DC Control Center, switch the Main circuit breaker “ON,” then
switch the Washdown Pump circuit breaker “ON.” This activates the boat’s
raw water washdown pump.
9. The raw water washdown pump, when activated, creates pressure in the raw
water washdown system. When the hose nozzle is closed, water pressure
within the system increases to a predetermined point at which the pump
automatically shuts off. When the hose nozzle is open, releasing water from
the system, the pressure in the system decreases. When the pressure decreases
to a predetermined point, the pump automatically turns on and increases
the pressure. This ensures a steady flow of water any time you use the raw
water washdown.
Bilge System
Your boat contains one bilge and three automatic bilge pumps. The bilge is the
lowest point in the interior of the boat’s hull where any water that finds its way
into the hull will accumulate. The forward bilge pump can remove up to 500
gallons of water per hour; the amidships and aft bilge pumps can remove up to
1500 gallons of water per hour.
• The forward bilge pump is located beneath a hatch in the companionway
outside the head. Refer to Section 9 - Hatches for the exact location of the
forward bilge pump.
• The amidships bilge pump is located beneath a hatch at the base of the
forward engine room bulkhead. Refer to Section 9 - Engine Room for the
exact location of the forward bilge pump.
• The aft bilge pump is located beneath a hatch in the cockpit at the stern. If
your boat was built for use in Europe, there is also a hand bilge pump aft.
Refer to Section 9 - Hatches for the exact location of the aft bilge pump.
Never store anything in the bilge. Storing loose items in the bilge could
damage pumps, pipes or other components that are essential for the
proper operation of your boat.
