6 - WORKING OPERATIONS
9.
If applicable, all machines with side-shift capabilities
must hydraulically lock the movement of the side shift
carriage. See
6-26
10. Connect a hand line to the load before you start.
Make sure that the worker holding the hand line is
away from the load.
11. Set a correct engine rpm according to the hydraulic
effort required.
12. If available, press the anti-tipping sensor switch
(1)
to
activate. This sensor activates the acoustic alarm
when sensing the machine is reaching its safety lifting
load limit.

To lift the load, observe the following instructions:
• Keep the load as close as possible to the ground and
to the machine;
• Lift the load slowly, avoiding sudden movements that
could cause load swing and operate lengthwise rather
than crosswise.
• Operate the controls smoothly to obtain precise move-
ments;
• In order to reduce the load’s oscillation, avoid slinging
it with too long ropes and/or chains.
Loads are given in kilograms (kg), for a machine without a
backhoe bucket, with the bucket cylinder rod completely
extended, and with the following safety margins:
• 33% for stability
• 15% for hydraulic limit considerations
• With the backhoe bucket connecting rod eye as the load
fixing point.
NOTE:
If the backhoe bucket is installed on the machine
the weight of the bucket must be deducted from the values
given.
NOTE:
The reaches given as from the backhoe attach-
ment swing pivot pin and the height is that of the load fix-
ing point.
NOTE:
The loads given are valid throughout the entire
height range at the concerned capacity.
