CARE & CLEANING
BEFORE CLEANING YOUR kETTLE,
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE CORD FROM
THE SOCkET FIRST.
WARNING:
Never wash the
kettle, the base,
the cord or the cord
plug under running
water nor immerse
them in water or
another liquid.
•
Use of the kettle may result in the
accumulation of minerals from water
and tannins from tea. This depends on
the hardness of the water used and how
frequently the kettle is used. Deposited
scale and tannins can adversely affect
the taste of the tea, so the kettle should
be cleaned regularly.
CLEANING THE STRAINER LID AND
kETTLE LID
•
Wash the strainer lid and the kettle lid
in warm water with a little washing-up
liquid using a soft sponge. Rinse and
wipe dry.
•
Neither the strainer lid nor the kettle lid
is suitable for dishwasher washing.
CLEANING THE GLASS kETTLE
•
After each use, rinse the kettle with
clean water. Do not leave the infused tea
in the kettle for too long, e.g. overnight.
•
Use a soft sponge to wipe the outer
casing and the inside of the kettle.
Always use clean, warm water, especially
when using the kettle exclusively for tea
preparation.
To remove residual tannins and mineral
deposits:
a) Fill the kettle with water up to
the MAX 1200 mark and put
a sliced lemon and lemon juice
into the water. Let it boil and
then infuse overnight. Pour the
water out and discard the lemon
slices. Fill the kettle with clean
water and boil the water again.
Pour the water out. Repeat as
needed.
b) Fill the kettle with water up to
the MAX 1200 mark and put 2
table spoons of baking soda into
the water. Let it boil and then
infuse overnight. Pour the water
out. Fill the kettle with clean
water and boil the water again.
Pour the water out. Repeat as
needed.
c) Fill the kettle with water up to
the MAX 1200 mark and put 6
table spoons of white vinegar
into the water. Let it boil and
then infuse overnight. Pour the
water out. Fill the kettle with
clean water and boil the water
again. Pour the water out. Repeat
as needed.
•
Wipe the kettle with a dry cloth.
