Attenuator Setup
An attenuator reduces the incoming radio frequency signal level seen by the receiver from the controller or from
other RF sources.
The R2HN receiver’s attenuator is fixed and is 22 dBm to 28 dBm. Enabling the attenuator
option has the effect of reducing the range at which the machine may be controlled and also makes the receiver
less susceptible to interference caused by RF signals on, or adjacent to, the equipment operating frequency. An
external attenuator can be used if a different amount of attenuation is necessary.
To obtain an external attenuator for your receiver/decoder, contact Cattron at
To set the built-in attenuator on the Model R2HN receiver, perform the following procedure:
1.
As a safety precaution, set the remote controller(s) power to ‘OFF’ and remove power to all controlled
machine motors before boarding the controlled machine.
2. Board the controlled machine, open the receiver/decoder door and remove the lid from the electronics
chassis, or ‘Gold Box’.
3. Set the Gold Box
power to ‘ON’.
4. Press both display control pushbuttons on the receiver until the following message is shown on the LCD
display:
PROGRAM OPTIONS
*****MODE*****
Release both buttons. The display will now change to show one of the other options that may be set for
this receiver.
5. Momentarily press and release both display control buttons until the following message appears on the
display:
ATTENUATOR
STATUS OUT
The display above shows the attenuator status as being disabled.
6.
Press and release either button to toggle the attenuator status from ‘OUT’ to ‘IN’, and vice versa.
