SNMP
Simple network management protocol.
SNMP is a networking protocol that
enables you to monitor the router using
third-party applications that use SNMP.

target
The storage-device endpoint of a SCSI
session. Initiators request data from
targets. Targets are typically disk-drives,
tape-drives, or other media devices.
Typically a SCSI peripheral device is the
target but an adapter may, in some cases,
be a target. A target can contain many
LUNs.
A target is a device that responds to a
requested by an initiator (the host system).
Peripherals are targets, but for some
commands (for example, a SCSI COPY
command), the peripheral may act as an
initiator.
TCP
Transmission control protocol. A set of
rules to send data in packets over the
Internet protocol.
TCP/IP
Transmission control protocol/Internet
protocol. Basic communication language
of the Internet.
Telnet
A network protocol used on the Internet or
local area network (LAN) connections.
Telnet provides access to a command line
interface (CLI) on a remote machine.
TLV
Type-length-value. Optional information
that may be encoded as an element inside
of the protocol. The type and length fields
are fixed in size (typically 1–4 bytes), and
the value field is of variable size. These
fields are used as follows:
Type—A numeric code that indicates
the kind of field that this part of the
message represents.
Length—The size of the value field
(typically in bytes).
Value—Variable-sized set of bytes that
contains data for this part of the
message.

UDP
User datagram protocol. A connectionless
transport protocol without any guarantee
of packet sequence or delivery. It functions
directly on top of IP.
