Analogue Input 2 (Terminals 9 and 6)
The Analogue Input 2 is for the PTC probe:
The PTC probe (if installed in the motor) may be connected directly to the terminals 9 and 6, the PTC
probe circuit should be run in screened cable and must be electrically isolated from earth and all other
power and control circuits. The PTC probe value can be processed and used in two ways:
•
activate an alarm if the signal is active. This alarm can be displayed in the parameter P004
':=
or
on a configurable logic output.
•
stop the STE Soft Starter if the signal is active (Critical alarm).
The parameter P027
)/:
set the Motor PTC Probe as the critical alarm. PTC probe protection does not
deactivate the motor thermal protection. Both types of protection can operate in parallel.
Warning:
The PTC probe circuit must be closed before the
STE Soft Starter
will run.
If no motor PTC probes are connected to the input there must be a link across the PTC
probe input terminals.
