2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
(Ref. to Fig. 3)
The head is equipped with a "self-lock" quick male coupler suitable for connection to a
hydraulic, pneumatic or electric pump from the
Cembre
range.
Insert the conductor between the blades, up to the desired cutting point. For a running
conductor, release the latch (16) and open the tool head.
Fully retract the lower blade (07) before attempting to open the tool head.
With the conductor on the lower blade (07), close the tool head and fully secure the latch (16).
Before commencing the cutting operation ensure that the latch (16) is fully secured:
partial closure may damage the tool head.
2.2) Blade advancement
Operate the pump to advance the lower blade.
Make sure the blades are exactly positioned on the desired cutting point; otherwise re-open
the blades, as § 2.4 and re-position the cutting head.
2.3) Cutting
Continue operating the pump to close the blades and progressively cut the cable.
The tool is designed for cutting copper, aluminium and ACSR cables. Do not
attempt to cut steel ropes guy wire and ground rod.
2.4) Blade opening
To open the blades, fully discharge the oil pressure from the pump.
