4. Using 2 open ended wrenches, tighten the outer nut of the
cam
, to the inner jam nut.

5. Re-check the rear locknut and bolt to see if it still turns freely by hand and adjust ac
-
cordingly.
Adjusting the Parking Brake Cable
If, after adjusting the brake caliper, the parking brake lever still does not firmly apply the
parking brake, then
brake cable
adjustment is required.
To adjust the cable:
1. The cable is adjusted by repositioning the parking brake lever assembly in it’s slotted
mounting holes. Loosen the mounting bolts and reposition the assembly such that the
cable has just about engaged the parking brake cam.

2. Re-tighten the bolts.
3. Check that the gap between the parking brake caliper and brake disc remains at
.010”
4. Activate the parking brake lever several times and recheck the gap.
5. Reposition the parking brake lever assembly if necessary.

6. Start up and drive the vehicle carefully to ensure that the parking brake will bring the
vehicle to a stop when coasting. Repeat several times, then check the gap between
brake pad and disc and readjust if necessary.
