8. Unfasten the single transmission mount at the lower frame directly behind the seat
compartment. Remove the Bolt, 2 square flat washers and locknut.

13. Remove the nuts and lock washers securing the shift bars to the cables and thread them
off.

15. Remove the emergency caliper assembly from the brake disc.

11. While raising the transmission, pull it towards the back of the vehicle.

This will ensure that the hydrostatic pump does not catch near the drivers compartment.
On vehicles equipped with the steering lock bracket, the hydrostatic pump should be
removed first before attempting to raise the transmission. The steering lock bracket
is in close proximity to the pump and damage could occur to either, while lifting the
transmission out.

10. Screw 2 lift hooks into the transmission as shown in

and attach an over-
head hoist to raise the transmission out of the vehicle.
12. Disconnect the shifter linkage at the transmission by removing the 2 bolts and lock
washers that connect it to the forward shift shaft, and reverse shift shaft.

14. Remove the shifting cables at the transmission, by removing the nuts and locking flat
washers that secure them to the molded bosses of the housing.
