ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A.
Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B.
Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1)
Disconnect the airplane battery.
(2)
Disconnect external electrical power.
C.
Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them.
2.
Remove the equipment from the center instrument panel as necessary to make the S2811-1 Cutout and
install the 95-44-15 Switch Body. (Refer to the applicable chapters of the Maintenance Manual.)
3.
Remove the interior equipment and furnishings on the right side of the airplane as necessary to install
the 8690032-1 Steep Approach Switch Mod C/A. (Refer to the applicable section of the Maintenance
Manual, Chapter 25.)
4.
(Refer to Figure 2, Sheet 1.) Install the electrical wiring.
5.
Protect the instrument panel and avionics equipment from metal debris.
CAUTION:
USE A CLOTH TO COVER ANY WIRES, AVIONICS OR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT THAT
IS IN A LOCATION WHERE METAL CHIPS OR SHAVINGS CAN FALL. CONTAMINATION
FROM METAL SHAVINGS CAN CAUSE WIRE INSULATOR DETERIORATION AND
SHORT CIRCUITS.
6.
(Refer to Figure 1, Sheet 1, View A-A.) Make one S2811-1 Cutout in the instrument panel and deburr as
necessary.
CAUTION:
REMOVE ANY METAL CHIPS OR SHAVINGS FROM WIRES, AVIONICS AND
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. CONTAMINATION FROM METAL CHIPS OR SHAVINGS
CAN CAUSE WIRE INSULATOR DETERIORATION AND SHORT CIRCUITS.
7.
Remove all FOD from the work area.
8.
Install the 95-44-15 Switch Body.
A.
Connect the 8690032-1 Steep Approach Switch Mod C/A to the 18-200 Connector.
B.
Connect the 18-200 Connector to the 95-44-15 Switch Body.
C.
Install the 95-44-15 Switch Body in the center instrument panel.
D.
Install the S2800-701 Cap on the 95-44-15 Switch Body.
9.
Remove the warning tags and apply external power to the airplane.
10.
Do a test of the switch installation.
A.
Make sure that the GPWS STP APR OFF/GPWS STP APR ON switch has the GPWS STP APR
OFF is illuminated.
B.
Do a the Self-Test Level 3. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Alliedsignal Enhanced
Ground Proximity Warning System - Adjustment/Test.)
NOTE: A laptop computer is not required to complete this self test.
C.
Wait until the self-test is completed.
D.
Press the GPWS STP APR ON switch.
