5.9.2.3 Commutator
●Check for color change, damage and
wear.
●If any damages, replace with a new
commutator.
● I f t h e c o l o r c h a n g e s , p o l i s h t h e
commutator surface with sand paper and
wipe it up with a clean dry cloth.
●If there is too much wear, cut a part of
insulator B and keep the distance between
A and B as d.
d≥1.5mm
5.9.2.4 Armature
Use a multimeter to check the armature
coil continuity and continuity between
coil and the shaft. If armature coil has no
continuity or there is continuity between
the coil and the shaft, replace the armature
with a new one.
5.9.2.5 Oil Seal
Check for damages or leaks.
If there are damages or leaks, replace with
a new starter motor.
